Stilico Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 This is one of the few gaming communities where you can be in your 30's and actually be one of the young'uns, and where you can go online to see a bunch of 60 year old men acting like 14 year olds. Here's to simming! 3 2
ST_Catchov Posted March 1, 2022 Posted March 1, 2022 I don't understand young noobs. If I was 30 again I wouldn't be simming. It is precisely because of my mature years that I am. 1
Livai Posted March 2, 2022 Posted March 2, 2022 The freaky thing about this game are the brand new "WIP Screenshots" from the JU-88 C-6 from their best side -> The JU-88 C-6 can transform ??? Source: https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/68018-jasons-briefing-room-and-officers-club/
Vishnu Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 53. Only started with BOS, year and a half ago. Up to 1200 hours now. Yup. I’m a teenager.
Thad Posted April 10, 2022 Posted April 10, 2022 Remember those thick and imposing manuals that once were included with flight simulators. Ah, the good old great days. 1 1

But I enjoy it and it's important Haha, enjoy that, I never was 46. Born late in the year 65 , I jumped straight to 47 from 45. Damn annoying I can say, being 47 two years in a row. And now I struggle remember if I am 56 or 57. Anyway, all of you must have a lot of female hormones, only my wife can drive me nuts the way you lot do 4
56RAF_Roblex Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 I remember joining my current squadron about 12 years ago and sheepishly admitting that I am quite old, 49. because I thought they would all be youngsters. They then advised that of the 10 or so regular flying members that would make me about third youngest ? "How can I be expected to act my age? I have never been this age before!" 2

Playing games on the computer to all hours of the night, etc... Never grow old in your mind. Never. And I totally agree with you about the sim. It's every bit as fresh as the first day, and keeps getting better all the time. Ha, snap! My wife just saw your post when she brought me a cuppa, while I was reading this thread, and said 'that's you, it could be you in the description' ! 2
BornToBattle Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 (edited) “…just a kid”? Hell, I’m so old now anybody under 40 to me is “just a kid”. I guess it’s called aging, but I still don’t like it. I guess like the OP implies, from the moment we are born we are aging. I guess you really don’t see it much that way in life until you notice your vision is getting fuzzier, you’re waking up in the middle of the night to go take a whiz or you’ve got aches and pains where you’ve never had them before. But still in my early 60’s I’m just now rediscovering plastic model building again after a 40+ year hiatus and finding my end products to rival what stuff I did back in my younger days (yes, a few DID survive). Not to start a flame war or anything but when working as a re-fueler at our airport one of our A&P mechanics had an interesting tongue-in-cheek sticker on his rolling toolbox that said “Old age and treachery will always overcome exuberance and youth”. I think despite growing physical limitations a lot has to do with your own mindset. If you feel your best days are behind you, you’ll live that sort of life. With just rumbling into my 60’s now I’m finding out I’m enjoying things more than I did when I was younger - simple things like model building and flight simming - especially with the advent of VR. [CPT]Crunch Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 Always crew with the silver haired pilot, and never touch a rusty dusty switch. One of my old Herk pilots favorite pearls of wisdom and advise back in the day. 1
Tonester Posted April 14, 2022 Posted April 14, 2022 We are very fortunate to have the benefit of such great developers. Constantly tweaking and augmenting this fine sim. Nobody can honestly say that we have not been given our moneys worth, thats for sure 3
