Youtch Posted February 25, 2022 Posted February 25, 2022 Whenever I start the HP Reverb G2 with WMR, volume goes systematically back to default 50%. It seems to be done in purpose with last audio driver for G2 from HP. This is very annoying because if I forgot to change the volume before launching the game and putting the headset, I need to remove the headset to put volume where I like it again, for my taste 80%. Has somebody figured out how to change the default vaue or remember last value? Than you very much in advance, y
firdimigdi Posted February 26, 2022 Posted February 26, 2022 Never noticed mine doing that. It always seems to have the volume level I last used. If you use JoyToKey or a similar program you can set it up to trigger volume level media keys using your controller (with long presses so you don't "waste" buttons) if your keyboard doesn't have volume control on it.
Youtch Posted February 26, 2022 Author Posted February 26, 2022 (edited) Are you using the corrective firmware? Because I suspect it is exactly due to that: https://support.hp.com/us-en/drivers/selfservice/hp-reverb-g2-virtual-reality-headset/33835976 I think they had some issues with audio drawing too much power causing flickering, and there solution might have been to impose 50%. If it is the case I have no clue how to revert this firmware change. Version: 14 Rev.A Fixed in this release: - Resolves a potential issue where displays may flicker or go black when playing certain titles at high volume levels. 59 minutes ago, Firdimigdi said: If you use JoyToKey or a similar program you can set it up to trigger volume level media keys using your controller (with long presses so you don't "waste" buttons) Does using JoytoKey in parallel with IL2 have any taxing effect on CPU or FPS? Youtch Posted February 26, 2022 Author Posted February 26, 2022 (edited) So, if it is not the firmware then, I need to look elsewhere. It is not SteamVR, it is Windows Mixed Reality. Each time, I restart WMR it set-up again volume to 50%. Edited February 26, 2022 by Youtch
SvAF/F16_Goblin Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 I have the same, I think it is a hearing safety measure since the device is identified as earphones and initially sets volume to a level deemed safe for hearing.
TheSNAFU Posted February 27, 2022 Posted February 27, 2022 I have g2 and volume does not change from where I set it. Not sure what would cause it to reset to 50% as you are experiencing.
