Dear Friends,

Once again, we are reminded that real-life is much more important than a video game or flight simulation. We pray for the safety and well-being of all our friends, family and associates no matter where they are during this difficult time. We are an international team and an apolitical organization and we wish to remain so. We ask that you help us keep our forum and other properties civil as world events unfold. We are operating as usual; development continues and we expect to continue to do so.

For today’s DD we have new, never before seen pics of the Arado AR 234 cockpit under development.

Full Text and Visuals HERE.

Looking good, nice to see the Arado is coming along nicely.

Have a nice day.

It is usually such a claustrophic cockpit - having the ability to remove the Lofte bombsight (if one isn't using it) really helps.

I'm very happy about that! I think I'll order the collector tanks to celebrate! (wanted them anyway, but they cost as much as TC at the moment - and I'd been saving money for ordering the Li-2, Snipe, SSW, and whatever the next modules will be).

Looks fantastic! Surprisingly roomy. Any chance we'll see the fancy rear facing periscope in game?

The Arado cockpit looks absolutely fantastic! Just a gorgeous view, can't wait to glide through the clouds and look for targets. Maybe we can use the 234 in it's original role as a photo recon aircraft for the marshall as well? I think that would be awesome. Looking forward to this aircraft

and stay safe everybody

With the Arado cockpit for a few seconds it reminded me somewhat of sitting in the Gazelle (well, almost)! Going through the new cloud sets will be most awesome in VR. Getting antsy for more FC2 stuff as well including the built-in career mode.

Full steam ahead team! Great stuff!

Arado cockpit looks great, I agree with the Gazelle comment, one fantastic view.....which will mesmerise me....and get me shot down. Agree with the advice to remain civil throughout, well spoken.

Now that's one pit I'm looking forward to experiencing in VR.

As they say - two weeks. We can speculate that we might get the Ju-88C and a couple of Flying Circus aircraft... maybe the new skydome. Based on what Jason has said earlier the Arado is probably going to take a while (I suspect it is the autopilot and bomb-sights! But that is just my guess).

I'm personally very excited about the Ju-88C! It'll be a really different way to relate to the Ju-88 (even if it isn't that good as a fighter).

Dito Sir ?

I'm a "Blow ground stuff up"-guy, so I'm very excited about this Gunship...and if it's not a superior dont mind it?‍♂️ I'll love it anyway

Neither am I, but that never stopped me.   I am forever grateful for the "Refly Mission" button that the real pilots never had.

The site is slow in my country. But no worry I have hope that no war can win, it is why I simulate it and not make it real. Thanks to the team that create this "GAME" for the content of this week and I salute them. :salute:

I know it's extra work, but is there any way we could add drivable versions of the supply trucks modelled here? There's a number of us on the Finnish server who have shown a great interest in driving ground supplies / convoys beforehand. Would be a great addition for ground forces in general.

The cockpit  looks great. And the trucks ate a nice touch. But can i be honest? Who cares about the pilots much less their helmets? I don't plan on flying close enough to see thru the window to id their helmet. And when i fly in vr, all i see is an empty seat.

You don't care. Some people do. Who is right? Who is wrong?

All I am saying is, 777 is short staffed. Ok. Things have been tough. I get it. But why then is so much effort being put into a avatar 90% of the players will never actually even see? Not trying to bust balls here. But couldn't an existing template be quickly altered if this is for a flyable aircraft? I think it is a fair question guven the circumstances.  And who knows, there may be a great answer.

Even though I have no interest in bombers or in jets, this view makes me want to fly the Arado anyway.

It's very sci-fi. Could easily be a cockpit in Elite Dangerous or Star Citizen.

Well done Jason and Team. The Arado cockpit looks fantastic (very detailed). I'm looking at my old Arado cockpit magazine drawings to work out what some of the instruments are. Can't wait to get it flying in my missions, especially helping the Me262's trying to bomb the bridge at Remagen. The Bedford truck and Tanker will be a very good addition around the English airfields. I am sure we are all fully supporting your teams under the very sad International situation developing at the moment.

Indeed this cockpit is looking great and I just noticed the red "Bremsschirm Offen" handle left of the compas..so I'm guessing we will get breake parachutes?

Please add a camera modification for reconnaissance like what the WW1 planes have

Ah, but they will see them if they bail out, and quite a lot of people watch tracks, where they can zoom in very close.

With cool cockpits like this, the new clouds and sky visuals, I'm going to have to suck it up and start saving for a new video card. The VR is getting a little slow these days and I need to dial up the detail! Great job on the Arado, that's going to be a fun one to fly.

I don't know if it is quite the same idea, but a mod to remove the guns from the flak trucks to use them as flatbeds might be an economic approach.

The detail in the Arado cockpit is looking great! And those excellent bomber crew models...hoping we see them in a flyable B-25 and/or B-26 someday!

Yeah, I was thinking of attempting to mod that. Back in the day I created a mod for RoF which removed the turret from the Bristol Fighter (I think - might've been one of the other two seaters) so it might be possible. I was just thinking about this actually.

I really like this idea. I remember tricking Janes's WWII fighters into letting me fly the Arado - the weapons didn't work so I made recon missions - it was surprisingly satisfying.

Wouldn't they technically be Arado Ar-234 B1 variants though? How different were they.

I thought of that. But that little bit of detail doesn't trump functionality in my opinion. It seems like a misguided priority in my opinion.

Lol. Typing at a stop light. Not a lot of time to edit.
