Hey guys, as the title says. Will I see any benefit when hosting Co-op missions by changing from 2.4g to 5g wifi connection?

Would I be able to have more AI without rubberbanding? or is this just a CPU issue?

Wireless connections should always be considered solely as a backup. Wired connection is the way to go.

I understand that, unfortunately that is not a possibility for me right now. Do you think 5G wifi would give me a increase in performance though?

5ghz has been an improvement for me - it seems to be less prone to interference. And I can get faster speeds, but that can be limited by what your isp provides.

One caveat is that the performance drops a lot quicker over distance than 2.4 ghz. So hopefully you have the router relatively close by.

Good to know! Thankfully I do have a higher speed plan with my ISP. I can't take advantage of it on my Desktop PC since its got a crappy WiFi card, but figuring out if buying a new Wifi Pcie 5G card would have any benefits is why I started this post.

I do have the router nearby but with two walls in between so I don't really know. I'll give it a try.

And just to be sure that your router can transmit on that frequency too!

Yes, thank you. All my other devices are 5g capable and connected to my router's 5g network. The only one that isn't is the one where I need it the most ?

It will entirely depend on how good the signal is.

5g is a less congested range than 2.4g but it also has less ability to punch its way through walls.

but having said that... the rubber banding could be caused by a number of things, bandwidth (5g wireless may or may not help with this as it is upload speed that will be the factor here) and CPU (higher IPC and clock speed is king, more cores will not help you here) being the primary things you need to worry about.
