BladeMeister Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 (edited) And I am off today. ? Hmmm, a new zoom view? A most welcome rework hopefully. We shall see. Thanks to all of TFS for the update. It looks like Cybermat has been very busy keeping us SPs very happy. TY Sir! It also looks like major_setback has been busy keeping the skins in line. Thanks to all, and directly after a little bacon and French toast, I intend to update and take CLOD/DWT for a spin. S!Blade<>< Edited February 22, 2022 by BladeMeister 1
343KKT_Kintaro Posted February 22, 2022 Posted February 22, 2022 This is a lovable update, thank you so much. Apologies for my ignorance, but I didn't get that one: *** Biplane Flag [ATAG_Oskar]Flight Model now has a biplane flag, true for biplanes. A "biplane flag" for the flight model in a flight simulator? What is that?
Team Fusion FG28Artist Posted February 22, 2022 Author Team Fusion Posted February 22, 2022 We found an error in the German localisation of the "Optionen", "Steuerung", "Kamerasteuerung": The localisation skipped a row, so the Bezeichnung is wrong. FTC_Karaya Posted February 23, 2022 Posted February 23, 2022 Liking all the bugfixes and new features such as the recording hotkey. However, what's the deal with this point? Quote Biplane Flag [ATAG_Oskar] Flight Model now has a biplane flag, true for biplanes. Does this mean changes to the overall handling of biplanes? Would love to see the cockpit camera angles in the new Tobruk aircraft fixed to be the same as in the older ones. They are currently more limited and do not allow to look straight 180° back. Also is there a chance for the gunshake and G-induced headshake to be reduced? They both seem a bit over the top. Firing the guns on the Kittyhawk for example feels like riding a washing machine in spin mode. But all aircraft are affected by this.

I proceeded to a test yesterday, after my game was upgraded to version 5.030: a cold start-up, take-off, sortie and, finally, landing on board a Tiger Moth. I noticed no differences with the Tiger Moth's behaviour before patch 5.030.

Art-J Posted February 23, 2022 Posted February 23, 2022 Zoom 50 is the biggest win for me in this patch. Finally I've got cockpit FoV similar to DCS and Il-2GB. Abilty to fully customize FoV by the player (by editing files) would be even better, but these new presets are already a massive gameplay improvement. Awesome! 1

I had an exchange of private messages with ATAG_Oskar, who kindly answered to our question. This new feature with the "biplane flag" is not intended to any interface that'd be visible for the player. On the contrary it is intended to those mission builders who know how to write scripts in the game's system files. So, this biplane thing is a tool allowing the mission creators to distinguish biplanes from monoplanes. The example given by Oskar says as follows: " if I wanted to keep track of how many fighters a player had shot down and divide that into biplanes and monoplanes the biplane indicator can be used to distinguish between them".
Team Fusion Buzzsaw Posted February 24, 2022 Team Fusion Posted February 24, 2022 There is no change to the flight models or otherwise regarding the biplanes... this is just an organizational change to allow logging. 1
