Game no longer starts

Hello all,
Recently my Il-2 will no longer launch anymore. I have the game on steam and have played it before. I had mods for the game but have recently uninstalled all of them. I have also completely deleted the game folder and redownloaded it and it still refuses to start. No error menu, doesn't even show a black screen. When I try to open the game straight from the exe, it tells me "The code execution cannot proceed because D3DCOMPILER_43.dll was not found". I tried before and after installing new drivers so I have no clue.

Right click your IL-2 game in your Steam library, then click > properties > local files > verify integrity of game files.

Was the first thing I tried, didn't work

Can't, on steam version

Not in ...... \Steam\steamapps\common\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Great Battles .. ?

There is no folder in my fresh installation of IL-2 that has the name "updates", unfortunately

Okay just figured it out.
Turns out somehow my DirectX files got uninstalled or corrupted, don't know how that happened.
But I reinstalled it and now everything works fine.
