Cybermat47 Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Okay, so pretty much the only sim hardware I have right now is my Logitech Attack 3 joystick. No pedals, no TrackIR, just my joystick. So I was wondering what good, cheap, sim hardware there is available? Thanks guys.
=RkSq=Hulkbeard Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 Freetrack is an excellent, super cheap alternative to TrackIR. I've been using it for years. You gotta built your own hat/clip and configure the software, but once that is done it works really well.
Seren77 Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 head tracking makes all the difference. Definitely want to get facetracknoir or build a freetrack if you don't want to buy a trackir. More I play more I feel like I need one of these quadrants so I can see where my rad/mix/prop is doing pretty good price and since youre aussie pccg http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=6117&cPath=953
No_85_Gramps Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 I did not want to invest a lot so I went with the T.16000m joystick and it works well for me. As far as headtracking I currently use opentrack w/a homemade 3 point LED clip and it also works well for me. For my camera I use a Logitech C270, no need to remove the IR filter.
Sokol1 Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 (edited) Cheap "WWII controls - HOTAS like": Tm T.16000M (because HALL sensor - same or Warthog - in X, Y axis) - configurable for left handle too. Saitek Quadrant (3 axis, 6 buttons) or CH Quadrant (6 axis, 12 buttons). One only "lost" buttons on left hand fingers - will need move hand from levers to access buttons om base of Quadrant. 100~150$. Sokol1 Edited July 17, 2014 by Sokol1

Anyone using facetracknoir? I tried it about a year ago, it was cool but not useable for me. Someone needs to come out with a head tracker that utilizes the kinect or some other multi-sensor gizmo.

Was a little clunky and laggy though. I'm not sure how much better kinect would be. Have trackir5 now. Pretty big difference
