DD_Arthur Posted February 23, 2022 Posted February 23, 2022 Interesting book. It doesn’t by chance mention that Spitfires were made of wood? 3

On a more serious note... There was some work done years ago to make a flyable He 177 flyable for the original IL2, but I dunno where that ended up. Needless to say, implementing something like this would be a very, very time consuming project. 1
40plus Posted February 24, 2022 Posted February 24, 2022 OK, I'm curious. What book is this and why is it so reviled?

It's an old line from the days of the original IL2, when someone told Oleg Maddox that they read about Spitfires being made out of wood. Oleg's response was along the lines of "Where did you read that Spitfires were made of a wood? Close that book and never open it again!" 1 1 1
