How does the in-game IPD scaling work?

I use a Quest2 which only allows adjustment up to 68mm but my actual IPD is 70mm.  Does that mean I need to adjust the in-game IPD +3% or -3% or does it not work like that at all?

I don't know how it calculates the percentage, but it really doesn't matter. Just adjust it to a level where it feels comfortable to you, and where the plane feels the "right" size.

The in-game IPD is a misnomer. I believe it's actually the inter-camera distance so it's more like a "distance between virtual 'pupils'" than your actual pupils.

yeah, something seems kind a weird on how it changes the image.

Only thing I see it do is scale the cockpit larger/smaller. I have both IPD adjustments assigned to two buttons on my HOTAS and adjust whilst in cockpit to get it to where to me it feels about right.

It doesn't seem to scale everything correctly.  When I adjust it parts of the cockpit start looking weird.

It's not doing anything to the cockpit. It's changing the distance between each eye's viewpoint, which makes objects appear to be bigger or smaller. If you were outside the cockpit standing next to a tree, that tree would appear to get bigger/smaller too. The affect is most obvious on things close to you rather than in the distance.

Weird how? I'm not seeing anything on my end, other than the perceived world size changing. Looking into the distance can feel a bit strange after a large IPD change, but after flying for a minute or two if feels natural.
