ATA_Vasilij Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 (edited) Hi there, I was really happy when it came to my home. Nice design, long stick, many buttons,.... I felt super tuper. Then I had to open base and tight screws. Then I had to open again base and change broken spring Then I had to open base again and change the cam which was worn out Then I had to open head and solder wire to the wheel brake lever, which was disconnected. Then first crack appeared along the plastic part And Finally the stick stayed in my hand after a sharp maneuver. Look pics It costed a lot of money. In one word I got a shit. And will never go back to Virpil. Sucks. Sorry for bad news. This is my experience. Edited February 20, 2022 by ATA_Vasilij 2
Panzerlang Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 I'd like to think they'd look after you if you contacted them.
Retnek Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 I own a model even older than your one. I'm flying day by day with two extensions, too. Screws one has to tighten every 6 month or so. Ok for me, since it's just the screws, not fatigue of the material. Only sign of time is the worn-out center-indent at the upper rotating wheel. Looking at bare metal at your extension I have to ask: what you're doing with your stick? My extensions don't have the slightest scratch. Not to mention that level of abrasion visible on your picture. Are you doing athletics with your stick? When I imagine the powers needed to provoke that massive attrition the problems you describe are easily understandable. But not necessarily a problem of the product.
Panzerlang Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 Unless there was a pre-existing flaw in the plastic there's no way the spring-force could lead to that breakage. Surely the stick's been slammed against its limits?
jollyjack Posted February 20, 2022 Posted February 20, 2022 No lifetime warranties then? Shame on Virpil ..

Actually nothing bad my friend ! During long flying my Left hand just rest there! So the colour is just removed by the sweat from hands ? I actually didnt do anything beyonde limits ? Of course some battles are stronger than others so physics load may be bigger, but I am not a Schwarzneger, so the plastic cover should hold it. Unfortunately there was a first crack when twisted the handle, and now another pulling continued the crack to completely broken. I have this stick 4 years. SO I am not sure how long is Virpil warranty.... I already sent them a message, So I will see.
