kraut1 Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 (edited) Hi All, here my first release of my settings to use the RHINELAND map for 1940 "Case Yellow" missions in Belgium / the Netherlands. Content: -3 revised settings files: planes.json (in emg data folder) maps.json (in emg data folder) CoopTemplate_RHINELAND.Mission (in emg template folder) -additional skin files: please download in install A20B french 1940 skin "French DB-7.dds" by ICDP https://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/35456-a-20b-skins/?do=findComment&comment=1059722 https://btcloud.bt.com/web/app/share/invite/6tLQn8kuFV Installation: -I suggest to make a copy of your whole EMG V58.1 folder and rename it e.g. IL2-EMG-1940. you can use this version of EMG for Rhineland 1940 missions and your original EMG for standard Rhineland 1944/45 missions -copy the 3 settings files into the EMG folders: planes.json (in emg data folder) maps.json (in emg data folder) CoopTemplate_RHINELAND.Mission (in emg template folder) -download the A20B french skin by ICDP in your Great Battles A20B skin folder: ...\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\graphics\skins\A20B What I defined for Rhineland 1940: Nations: Germany vs. Great Britain (with french bombers) Planes, suitable for 1940: Germany: BF109-E7 to be used as BF109-E3 -fighter and attack plane -for realistic gameplay fly with manual water cooler and propeller pitch control. -changed load out: I replaced all bomb loads by only gun armament. (Bombs used later in 1940 during Battle of Britain) -defined loadout: [0,10001] with guns, without bulletproof wind screen, with cut amor plate -when used as attack plane only for strafing with guns -default western front skin seleted: bf109e7_skin_11.dds BF110-E2 to be used as BF110-C4 -fighter and attack plane -for realistic gameplay fly with manual water cooler and propeller pitch control. -changed load out: I replaced all bomb loads by only gun armament. (Bombs used later in 1940 during Battle of Britain) -defined loadout: [0,1] only with guns -when used as attack plane only for strafing with guns HE111-H6: selected, nothing changed Great Britain (+France) Hawker Hurricane II -fighter and attack plane -changed load out: I replaced all bomb loads by only gun armament and selected 8 machine guns instead of 12xMG or 4x20mm. -defined loadout: [0,1] only 8 machine guns -when used as attack plane only for strafing with guns Douglas A20B as french Douglas DB-7 Note: according french Wikipedia first real combat sortie at 22.May 1940 https://fr.wikipedia.org/wiki/Douglas_A-20_Havoc#Bataille_de_France_1940 -bomber and attack plane -user french 1940 skin selected: "French DB-7.dds" General Note for all planes: I have reduced the average speed a bit from ca.400km/h to 380km/h, for low level missions this is not required but for missions with higher altitude you have always the problem during climbing to be to slower than the AI pilots (common problem in most flight sims). Changed static objects: in the template CoopTemplate_RHINELAND.Mission I have replaced: BF109-K4 by BF109-E7 FW190A8 by BF109-E7 P47 by A20RAF P51 by A20RAF (Hurricane seems to be not available as static block, so Typhoons are still there) 3 of the existing Frontlines selected for 1940 and renamed: 10. may 1940 Note: The southern part can be used for ca. 10. to 12. May, Airfied Kelz inside Germany The northern part can be used for ca. 12.-13.May, Airfield Venlo has been taken by german trops at ca.11. or 12.May) 14.May 1940 for ca. 14. to 15.May 1940 16-May 1940 This is the latest update of my settings. I have already flown ca. 15 BF109 missions with realistic settings, manual cooler and propeller control, regular AI, and limited number of planes. I liked it and and from my point of view game difficulty was balanced. Because my computer has only average performance, I like Vanders EMG very much, because with this tool it is really possible to limit the number of planes and ground objects effectively. Vander, thanks very much for your EMG and ICDP thanks very much for the french A20B skin! Best Regards Rhineland-1940v1-for-EMG_V58.1.zip Edited February 20, 2022 by kraut1 1 mistake corrected
