impulse200 Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 Hello. I am unable to make RPM control work on Yak-1 ser. 69. Even pressing default keys on the keyboard do nothing. Although this setup works OK on Lagg-3 and La-5. The funny thing is that sometimes it starts working as it should. But I am unable to find the pattern here. Am I missing something here and Yak-1 RPM control works in some other different way than on other crafts?
Guest deleted@50488 Posted February 19, 2022 Posted February 19, 2022 If you notice this while flying online at some servers, please be aware that some have an option of automatic engine management enabled that allows you to only act over the throttle. Under that mode you can't even operate any of the engine-related devices like the radiators, inlet and outlet, etc... Start the aircraft at a single player quick mission and make sure you edit the mission properties and disable all of these simplifications ( tick boxes mostly to the right side of the options menu ), and then experiment with controlling prop rpm.

I am testing different setups of different crafts in Quick Mission having plane parked with engine off. 1CGS LukeFF Posted February 19, 2022 1CGS Posted February 19, 2022 The Yaks have a very slow RPM control system, but nonetheless it uses the exact same commands as the La-5 and LaGG-3. You've probably inadvertently changed the difficulty setting somewhere along the way.

Dunno how to proof that I am actually pressing RShift-Minus/Equals though ?♂️ 1
impulse200 Posted February 19, 2022 Author Posted February 19, 2022 Oops. Pointed camera to the throttle in the yak. Not to the RPM control wheel. But anyway there’s no any message in techno chat on RPM change.
impulse200 Posted February 21, 2022 Author Posted February 21, 2022 So... I guess everyone got this working all right? If so then there should be issue on my side. But I fail to see which one exaclty.

Fuyi_Adawa Posted March 6, 2022 Posted March 6, 2022 I had the same problem. Try to define rpm with axis. There seems to be a problem with defining with the keys on the joystick. After redefining, my problem was solved. It seems to be related to the key repetition rate.

56RAF_Roblex Posted March 30, 2022 Posted March 30, 2022 I flew a Yak1 69 online last week it and it was fine mapped to a wheel on the HOTAS. The PE2 is the confusing one as one model is OK on a wheel and the other model must be mapped to two buttons ?

My joystick has two rollers. they looks like axises , but they are not. I once set one to RPM controller and there was a problem. I later found that when the scroll wheel is rolling, it actually repeats the keys, but the frequency is very low. Unlike the set key, the key repeats very frequently when pressed and held.
