A Virpil throttle and (FINALLY) an RTX 3080 Ti (Gigabyte OC Gamer). My current 1080 Ti handles IL2 really well with my G2 VR (very suprisingly so) but it's on the bleeding edge now (recent updates I guess, yesterday was the first time I played in over three months).

The card should be here tomorrow (the throttle, god knows) so I'll update on the improved performance.

I ordered the C3 to go along with my flight stick. I should have enough buttons and switches now...maybe

I got that same video card about a month ago. I did undervolt it a bit to save power and temps  and haven't really lost any performance from stock (maybe 1% less fps). You'll enjoy using that card!

Yes undervolting these 30 series cards is great. I figured out how to undervolt and benchmark my RTX 3070 for a saving of 90Watt (average) and drop in GPU temp of 8-10 degrees C for loss of only 2 FPS. The performance difference to me is nothing but the power and heat saving is really excellent. (My room gets hot enough without my PC pounding out unnecessary heat ...and pumping up my power bill !).

In regards the Virpil Throttle... there is a good thread on the virpil forum, that gives people a rough idea how long the wait is....its optional and up to the individual to update any times and as people get dates they are putting them in.
You just copy one of the existing posts then use that to make a new post to add to the thread, with your order detail, then as the order progresses just edit the post you made. If you want to take a look its here https://forum.virpil.com/index.php?/topic/1946-new-ordering-process-live-community-discussion/page/51/

My last two orders from them were about a month each.

I'll look into the under-volting, it sounds like a sensible hack.

Yes, undervolting is definitely worth the trouble on the new Nvidia RTX 30' series (can't say if it helps AMD cards as I have no experience with those)! My 3080 was running hot, even after I replaced the thermal pads though that did help a little. But when I found the sweet spot in undervolting my card my temps went way down as well as the watts used and there was absolutely no drop in FPS or performance. It took a couple of weeks of testing out different undervolt settings to find the best stable setting but I am glad I did!

Holy crap. £1500 that did something. Lol. I used the game settings somebody else had put in place for a 3090 and in 16v16QM not a single stutter, ghosting or glitch. Phenomenal result. The same settings with the 1080Ti were playable but not pretty.

Going by other threads/posts I have no idea why I'm getting such stellar performance with this card. I have Motion Reprojection forced on in the IL2 SteamVR settings, which forces 45fps, so I know that's a huge help. The resolution slider thing, which is actually super-sampling (?) is at 100% for IL2 and globally too.

In the game I put most of the graphic's settings to max with Ultra preset. FXAAx2. SAO and HDR etc off, no mirrors or canopy reflections. In the G2-VR with 16v16QM it's all smooth as silk. I expected to see some sort of issues, bit of occasional stuttering and/or ghosting, but so far nada. And max GPU temp of 64c (measured with HWMonitor).

I suppose it's the 45fps thing, otherwise I can make no sense of it. Happy as larry though. :)
