Resently I have noticed some trouble with my joystick (CH Fighterstick). X-axis is not working properly anymore. Like when I apply let's say full left aileron, it sometimes stays there even if I centre the stick and I have to apply right aileron to correct it. Also the amount that is applied is inconsistent. Full joystick movement sometimes gives full aileron movement, sometimes it's almost un-noticeable. Any advice how to proceed?

I'll see if it helps when I get home today. The thing is, this problem is not consistent and it's quite new. Got it first time maybe two weeks ago, then it went away and now it's back again.

Hey 13/JG51mprhead,

If what Extreme_One posted does not work it may be a loose wire connection to one of your pots inside the Ch Fighterstick. It is easy to access, just carefully peel the 4 rubber pads off the bottom and take out the screws and it will allow you to get to each pot and wire terminal. There are slide on connections that sometimes become a little loose causing problems like this and all you need to do is just use some hog nose pliers and gently crimp each one of the wiring connectors a little tighter to insure a good connection. To absolutely resolve this from happening again you may also carefully solder the wiring to each terminal but you should be careful in soldering and be sure not to heat the pots up much for this could harm the pots. I actually went ahead and soldered my wires to the terminals to insure good connections, it is up to you.

If you have not visited the Ch forum I suggest you use them as a good resource to trouble shoot problems, they are extremely helpful and very nice folks . Here is the link http://www.ch-hangar.com/forum/. Also if you have not installed the CH Manager for calibrating and testing your CH stuff I highly recommend using it, there great tutorials on how to install it and use it properly.

Cheers--sf--

And - depend on joystick age - maybe is good idea replace the X and Y potentiometers, cost ~10$ each, link about how buy on top of above linked forum (section Hardware Help).
