Captn_Courget Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Hey, i bought BOS last week as i was really excited to try the game and test it before it's release. BUT it is completly laggy on my computer that runs other games (BF3, war thunder in high def,...). so i try to set the game with the lowest settings and STILL; it did improve but its not fluid a all. i can play more than 10 mins because of that and im really not enjoying the game. im sure this sim is awesome as a lot of player looks to enjoy it (and im sure ill enjoy it too) but my experience is teriible. i dont understand why even in low graphic the game is still laggy on my computer. i bought this gaming computer 2 months ago to play. it can runs almost all game in decent definition. so why BOS doesnt work properly ? does anyone have an idea. what should i do ? thanks
FuriousMeow Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 Need your system specs, drivers running, windows version, etc.

Sim Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 What's your monitor/resolution? The issue is definitely your video card (Radeon HD 7750). Also, make sure you don't have any Anti-Aliasing setting enabled in Graphic options menu (set the AA slider to 0). But really, you need to upgrade that video card. As an example, GeForce GTX 760, which is enough to run BoS at ~60fps is 3 times as powerful as your card.
Captn_Courget Posted July 16, 2014 Author Posted July 16, 2014 my monitor is a toshiba LED HDTV 24 inch full 1080p so my graphic card is the issue. is there any other option than the GeForce GTX 760 cards to play BOS ? its approx 250 dollars more is the game that demanding ?
LLv44_Mprhead Posted July 16, 2014 Posted July 16, 2014 You can get GTX660 or Ati Radeon R9 270, those should be enough to run the game decently at balanced, R7 265 or even GTX 750ti will most likely be enough to run at least somewhat smoothly at low graphics settings.
Captn_Courget Posted July 17, 2014 Author Posted July 17, 2014 if i update my graphic card, for example i take the Radeon HD 7750, will my processor be enough now ? you get the idea behind ? will i need something more powerful to run this good graphic card ? thanks
FuriousMeow Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 (edited) It will work, but it won't be the best. Single player missions will suffer. Essentially the processor you have is about 35% slower across the board than an i7-870 which is the 1st generation of Intel's i series CPUs. I had an i7-870 and it worked with RoF but it struggled in QMB with 8+ planes. This title is very CPU intensive due to the physics calculations involved, so you'll have to weigh that in - it isn't all GPU. I'll say it will work, but you will have performance issues in single player with objects and planes. I can't say how many, as I don't know - but that processor will hit a wall. Captn_Courget Posted July 17, 2014 Author Posted July 17, 2014 okay so lets define the best solution for my situation (even if it's expensive). i should first change my graphic card for the GeForce GTX 760. with this graphic card, which CPU should i need ? is there something else now that will be limiting step the reaction ?
LLv34_Flanker Posted July 17, 2014 Posted July 17, 2014 S! Intel i5 or i7, LGA1150 socket still works very well and Z77/87 chipset. Intel 2500K or 2600K would run BoS fine and easy to OC if needed, with proper cooling.
FuriousMeow Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 (edited) Flanker is correct. However, SBs are better just due to sheer overclock. The Haswell's beat SandyBridges and IvyBridges, despite lower overclocks, due to higher Instructions Per Clock in pure computation. You can get a SB up to 5GHz on air (pushing it for long term) while the Haswell can hit 4.4GHz at best on air (I have mine at 4.4 using the Noctua NH-D14, but even water won't help its just limited) but the 4.4GHz Haswell will outperform a 5+GHz SB just due to the capability of the Haswell to do more IPCs. So it depends on how much you want to spend. That's not even getting into the Extreme editions of each line, which are very expensive but that's because they are the extreme of the CPU line and are a whole different topic. LLv34_Flanker Posted July 18, 2014 Posted July 18, 2014 S! I just upgraded, if you want to use that term, to a Haswell-E i7 4790K 4GHz. Well, seems here are some tweaks needed for my mobo to run it as I could not use Dual Channel Halved my memory from 16Gb to 8Gb..sigh. Z97 here I come...
