HP G2 stopped working.

Out of the blue, my G2 has begun giving me trouble undue.

 So this is what happens, it'll load up the basics of the game if I start the peripherals (Discord and neck safer) in a certain order. If not the headset remains black. Sometimes it will load Steam VR with the mountain scenery, sometimes nothing at all. If it starts the game at all I'll get to the first screen, but when I click on a menu choice on the right, the headset goes black while the image on my monitor  remains in the split configuration and the game continues to load as if VR is still running. The Steam VR box gives no hint of a problem with the VR. It's like there's a disconnect between headset and the game once anything but the first screen is brought up.

 

 I tried to get into ED with the headset and had no issues there.

 

 Oh yes I'm using a G Force 1080 Ti although that really isn't relevant IMO since I haven't encountered this problem since I've been playing in VR for a few years now. This is totally out of the blue. No tweaking preceded, no graphics change. Only a reboot of the PC when I noticed the cockpit image began to stutter while on Finnish. It was as if something was downloading in the background.

 And yes I did reacquire the 9 files that seemed to magically disappear.

Fixed this issue w/out knowing the reason for the breakage. But a friend just had everything go south, the game, VR, sound, (game and Discord) after a Windows update. And it seems to me that my problem started after a Windows update. Beware the Windows update.
