The ace Norz and consequences

March 5. 1943 Norz took off from Loustari to intercept USSR attack aircraft IL 2 

He was credited this day with 5 aircraft

After shooting down 1 of the IL2's he attacked another. One of his cannons jammed and he went closer to finnish it off

The IL disintegrated and pieces of it hit Norz plane, his engine got damage and he had to emergency land in the tundra.

After 8 hours walk in heavy snow he returned to German forces.

The day after he shot down 5 ac, next day 12. In total 137 victories on Murmansk front.

September 1944 he was again attacking IL2's Having a new tactics because of the gunner. He attacked from below and hit the pilot, curious about the crash he went on the side of the stricken ac, and watched it go down. 

Apparently the gunner still wanted to fight and hit Norz engine. He called in he was and was ordered to bail out. He refused and tried to return to Kirkenes. 80 mtrs from the airbase he reported elevator did not work. Probably stalling the plane. He went in on a field with big rocks 

They found him dead in his cockpit.

Back to 1943, one of the IL 2 pilot's he shot down, attempted to escape, and by a mistake shot down two young Norwegian grouse hunters in the area.
