SvAF/F16_Goblin Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Right, a quick and dirty report about this headset from a purely subjectively, non scientific standpoint. I got a G2 Rev 2 as replacement from HP yesterday and my initial feelings is: Better lenses, it feels like they are clearer Sweetspot, not any worse at least but I cant say it's better FOV, better with the new face mask. Removing the glasses adapter makes the eyes get close to the lenses. Tracking, better for both headset and controllers Remember this is pure subjective basis and not science in any way but I feel this is a notch up from G2 Rev1.
Youtch Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Where are you leaving? There seems to be no sign of rev2 in Europe.
SvAF/F16_Goblin Posted February 11, 2022 Author Posted February 11, 2022 I live in Sweden and I can't find any to buy but when getting RMA replacement part it definitely is a Rev2.
chiliwili69 Posted February 13, 2022 Posted February 13, 2022 From here: The improved version of the HP Reverb G2 viewer is already sold and shipped in Spain, and in 30 other countries (all of the EU, China, Japan, Australia, India, Israel, etc). In our country(Spain), this device can be obtained through the official HP store (in theory, because there is no stock right now) or through its official distributor XRShop, which does have stock. The updated version of the HP Reverb G2 costs €649 with controllers and €594 without them at XRShop, and for €418.99 they have the first viewfinder model (without controllers) on sale. In other online stores such as Amazon or PCComponentes it seems that they still only have the non-updated model. I see they do shipments to Europe and worldwide. 1
Youtch Posted February 14, 2022 Posted February 14, 2022 I live in Spain as well, but there is no explicit mention on HP website that what they are offering is revision 2, or at least I could not find it. https://www.hp.com/es-es/shop/product.aspx?id=1N0T5AA&opt=ABE&sel=ACC&p=hp-reverb-g2-vr-headset
chiliwili69 Posted February 15, 2022 Posted February 15, 2022 Muy buenas majo. It seems that the HP website (and logistic chain) is slower than the official distributor (XRshop). You can but it then in the XRShop: https://xrshop.invelon.com/en/collections/hp

OG__Iceman_VR Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 I have had to lower my settings from HDR and 4k and end up using .06 to .08 in gamma on any map with early and late day sun. It is so bright that I have to fly with sunglasses on in my VR because I can't lower the bright anymore without lowering the graphics to garbage settings. Anyone find a fix to this without having to lower your settings?
[CPT]Crunch Posted April 11, 2022 Posted April 11, 2022 Cross your fingers the OpenXR mod with tools will be ported over soon to this sim also, it has excellent brightness, color, and contrast controls that come standard. 2
Russkly Posted April 13, 2022 Posted April 13, 2022 I bought a Reverb G2.1 in the UK last week, and both HP UK customer service and their UK re-seller confirmed that all the G2s they're selling are now G2.1s, i.e. V2 or Rev 2.
