oskar93 Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 I've started learning ju-87. I've checked the engine settings from the flashcards and chuck's guide, and I'm following them to a tee. I'm also exremetly carefull with my throttle (i'm using TWCS with impulse slider mod for extra precision). Still, after several attempts, I've blown my engine every single time a minute and a half after takeoff: engine halts and windscreen is covered in oil. Fuel is fine. I have tried to set the engine to the cruise settings (1.0 ATA and 2200 RPM) as soon as I rotate, so takeoff settings are set off well below the minute mark. The engine dies nevertheless. The temps are fine and are not exceeded. Supercharger is set to AUTO (pushed). Also I've waited the temperatures to raise to the minimum values (oil 15 and water 30) before taxiing. I was carrying SC500 and 2 SC50 bombs during takeoffs. Any advice? I'm clueless at this point. I'm flying the channel map (autumn).
oskar93 Posted February 11, 2022 Author Posted February 11, 2022 Yes. Also I tried to set prop pitch 80% and made sure that RPM never exceeded 2300 RPM duiring takeoff. Engine still died on me. Figured it out. Oil rad axis was assigned wrong way. Thought up = open, but it says aus, nol auf like in the water rad. Engine managed to cool before i've noticed the mistake. Thanks for the help!
ATAG_Slipstream Posted February 11, 2022 Posted February 11, 2022 Those oil and water rads have been the downfall of many a fine pilot myself included :)
