Next intriguing thread....those Island maps may finally be getting Pacific foliage? Pictures :)

"TFS as you now have a newer version of Speedtree, would there be consideration for changing the trees and foliage on the Island Maps to something more tropical like Palm trees?"

The Sunderland reskinned and the Macchi as a Ki-61 would work well on those maps

Palm trees on the island maps, Macchi as the Ki-63, 190 as the Zero vs P40's.... it's all about imagination if we have no sim willing to head towards the Pacific since IL2:1946

Team Fusion Simulations founded in 2017. "Cliffs of Dover" reedited under the name "Cliffs of Dover - Blitz" in 2017. The Great Battles series christened as such in 2017.

 

Those who read the forums, those who paid attention all along the last 5 years... know that there is very little chance the Dover series brings us a Pacific module. Most likely the Great Battles series will do it first.

The more I think about it and the more I m convinced that a serious BOP with the same quality we can expect will need a tremendous work and investment. So many ships and planes to model. The various carriers have to be modeled much better than what we had in 1946, with working plane hangar lifts etc. It can only be a long term undertaking. Probably a three to four year minimum project. Can IL2 team live for such a long period. There is some danger here. Cliffs of Dover was a nearly six year development which ended badly. If a BOP can be divided in a series with limited scope and improving over time maybe. Let's cross fingers and hope.

Agree, sadly. However, that's where the imagination of working with what we have is better than nothing.

Yes and overflying small islands and atolls with their coral sand white beaches and lagoons with perfectly transparent blue emerald waters where you see the coral reefs in transparency below the surface ...... oh man that's paradise ?
