453=SGII_Wotan Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 Hi I get the above happening, and find it impossible to spot planes in this distant shimmering liney haze. I have good graphic representation above and below but distance is very shimmery on the horizon. is there a setting you can alter to improve this. would lowering draw distance help ect? 1
kendo Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 Not sure of the details of your system - VR or monitor, screen resolution, etc - which may all be important. I don't get this on my monitor, so some suggestions - not sure if it will help, but these are what I'd check first. First, have you got a decent level of anti-aliasing? I'm on 4X in-game MSAA. Unsure if Horizon Draw Distance has an effect? I've used 100km and 130km with no issues. Unsure if low settings on this (40km?) may have an effect? Try setting Landscape Filter to Sharp. In your video card settings try setting Anisotropic Filtering to 8x or 16x (this has a negligible performance impact). Also, if using nVidia set the following: Antialiasing - Transparency: Multisample Texture Filtering - Anisotropic Sample Optimization: Off Texture Filtering - Quality: High Quality: Texture Filtering - Trilinear Optimization: OFF 1
[CPT]Crunch Posted February 3, 2022 Posted February 3, 2022 Horizon draw distance should have the biggest effect, set it maximum. It's still going to stink if your at tree top level though, but being its a flat map and your as low as you can go, all contacts should be spotable above the horizon.
