Apologizes, but double question

First off I just bought the game and have seen some great skins here. Part #1: I downloaded 3 skins but am unsure where to put them. Two are RAR's and one is a zip. I have the steam version and HSD but that won't help correct? Part #2: I was wondering if someone could make me a skin of a Panther belonging to the 12th SS Panzer "HJ" Division. Just the division insignia on upper corner of the front mantel. Thanks very much.

Hi welcome.  Are you using Haluters skin downloader?  Or are you using the embedded links on the posts in this forum?  I use mainly the links to downloads on this forum - I feel the skins are better and for me easier to download.

1.) Save the DD File to your Desktop after downloading.

2.) Right Click your IL-2 Game Icon and click "Open File Location"

3.)  Go "IL2 Strum Great Battles"

4. Go "data"

5.) Go "graphics"

6.) Scroll down to "Skins"

7.) Then place your DD File from the Desktop into the correct Vehicle File, in the case above -PZV-D.

 

When you go to open it up in game it's in the same location as yout "Official Skinbs" - just click on "Custom Skins."

 

Haluter is basically the same process but you have to set up the destination file in advance - let me know if you want help on that.  But the only files worth downloading on there for me are Heinz's.
