LP2W Posted February 1, 2022 Posted February 1, 2022 The fuel meter on the Tempest currently stays at full no matter what. Regardless of fuel leak, long flight, or even taking less fuel into the flight to start with. currently using latest version.
Gingerwelsh Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 (edited) Load 40%, Gauges should read Nose empty, Spars (2) empty, Main 62 gals. Mine all work OK. You are probably only reading 1 gauge, the main one, which is empty last. You have to use 84 gals, before the main tank drops. .. Edited February 2, 2022 by Gingerwelsh 2
LP2W Posted February 2, 2022 Author Posted February 2, 2022 Ah that explains it. Im new to the Tempest. also, any advice on spinning after completing a landing? Land perfectly, reduce all power and apply brakes, just before a complete stop it spins on the spot uncontrollably?
Gingerwelsh Posted February 2, 2022 Posted February 2, 2022 (edited) @LP2W Yes, the Tempest will spin (ground loop) quite readily at the end of its run, especially in a cross wind. It's easily corrected. If you touch down at around 80 mph and into any wind, you won't need brakes until the last knockings. Anticipate any swing on the slow down with rudder and keep up with it, it might swing in the last few yards. Counter this with a little opposite diff brake and rudder. If this doesn't stop it, a small burst of engine will do. Only practise will get it right. .. Edited February 3, 2022 by Gingerwelsh
