Bought it, downloaded it,,,where/what is it??

Hi all...paid my money, activated and downloaded it, but can find no content in game...no missions...campaign...nada

Only mention of Tobruk was the name of one of the online servers...couldnt even find the map in the mission builder software.

 

What gives, what am i doing wrong?  Are there missions and a campaign?

That part of your message immediately made me think you are maybe mixing up simulators. This is the forum for the Dover series, not the Great Battles series. There are three generations in the "IL-2 Sturmovik" series:

 

First game, "IL-2 Sturmovik: 1946" (2001, although named as such in 2006)

 

Second game, "IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover - Blitz" (2011, although named as such, "Blitz", in 2017)

 

Third game, "IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles" (2013, although named as such in 2017)

 

"IL-2 Sturmovik: Desert Wings - Tobruk" is a module for "IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover - Blitz", not for "IL-2 Sturmovik: Great Battles". You need to purchase the "Blitz" game if you want to run the desert game (for ten bucks only my friend, which I really recommend you do as it is a fantastic sim in many ways).

 

If you already purchased the Blitz basic game, then you only need to activate your Desert Wings game in Steam.

 

Edit : I highligted the titles of the three distinct games so there's no confusion on them.

 If you bought both Blitz and Tobrk there are Quick missions, single missions and campaigns under Single player menu. Multiplayer..well, is multiplayer and servers found via Server browser. Full mission builder is under Extras if I remember right. Another good resource is looking at the Manuals in your game folder (X:\..\Steam\steamapps\common\IL-2 Sturmovik Blitz\

Did you check in Steam if the DLC is selected? Go to CloD Blitz in your library, right click it and select properties. There should be a DLC tab where you can tick Tobruk to be downloaded with the base game.

Thanks guys. yes i know which sim its in, had blitz for years but havnt flown it since getting vr. i bought tobruk in preparation for vr arriving soon and it was on sale. i activated it through steam and got a 5gb update download but cannot see it anywhere in game… clod has a mission builder too. im off to work for a week this morning so will have to look further into it when i fly home next week. cheers

Please take the time to read the 'Getting Started and Troubleshooting Guide'.

 

Located in the main CLIFFS OF DOVER install folder in 'manuals' folder.

 

Also in there are the aircraft flashcards/manuals which provide details on how to fly the different types.

Are you sure you have Cliffs of Dover - Blitz and not the original Cliffs of Dover?

Cliffs of Dover - Blitz is the TF update to the original game
