Cybermat47 Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 After a few unsuccessful attempts to get airborne in MP, I finally got my Messerchmitt 109 F off the ground. I fired plenty of rounds and saw plenty of bandits, but I didn't score at all. After such an experience, all I can say is... This game is so good that I can have such an unsuccessful sortie but still come away grinning! 1
Gambit21 Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Most of the time I'm by myself flying strike missions on the US Expert server - but still fun!
DressedWings Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Its given me the same sensation as the first time I played the original IL2 online. awesome is the best way to describe it.
Pringliano Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Yes, I am progressively finding myself and the others around at the Expert servers. An advice given to me at the DCS World forums, where I used the P51d and also have a lot ( even more than in IL2 ) difficulty in finding the others around me in the Expert servers was to reduce my screen resolution. While my ( cheap ) monitor is set for an optimal 1920 x 1080 resolution, reducing it to 1600 x 900 in full screen helps both with the frames ( not that I have any reason to complain regarding frame rates in IL2 BOS ! ), but specially with the identification of other airplanes in the skies. I have also gained some more experience in identifying friends and foes.... It's a superb game, I'd say, the best flight simulator I have ever used, well, ex-aequo with DCS W and it's mighty P51d... :-)
Praetor Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Don't lower resolution, just dedicate a 42 inch or larger TV to your computer.
Pringliano Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Don't lower resolution, just dedicate a 42 inch or larger TV to your computer. If I had the $$$ for that :-/ But truly, having reduced to 1600 x 900 I get the impression that I can see the other aircraft, in Expert servers, more easily.
SCG_Neun Posted July 15, 2014 Posted July 15, 2014 Satellite connection here at the house...but I can see me dragging my gaming computer to the office.... "No honey....I'm still at the office....it's been a real "B" today. Don't worry about holding supper....I'll make do.....somehow".
