Rear gunner

As I ease myself back into multiplayer after too many years away from flight sims, I quite fancy trying the gunner position. However, before I plump myself behind some unsuspecting pilot, I want to be sure I can operate the gun properly. Although I have been searching the forums I haven't managed yet to find a guide on how to set up and use the joystick rather than the mouse to aim and fire.

 

Any help would be appreciated.

To be fair, I reckon the mouse is better than attempting to use the stick anyway. Sticks are notoriously bad for aiming actual (digital, of course) guns. I'd stick with the mouse as a pose to stick with the stick!! 
That's probably why there's not much in the way of guides.
