VR zoom

I cant seem to find a way to zoom in and out using a slider/axis in VR mode. Ive tried all the camera bindings and they only seem to work in non VR mode. The only one I can get to work in VR is 'quick zoom maximum'. It works, but the problem I find with zooming in quickly is that you lose sight of your target, as unless you have it perfectly in the center of your view, when you zoom in it goes off to the side and you have to try and find it. I much prefer a gradual zoom. Is this possible?
