Does it make sense to buy the Yak-9 when I own the Yak-9T and all the other collector planes?

If you LOVE Yak fighters... maybe. I did! But as CountZero said, for $6 its absolutely worth flying around in a new aircraft for a bit.

Including premium edition planes, I'd say you can't go wrong with the P-38. Excluding them however, I've been having a blast in the Hurricane Mk II recently. As someone stated earlier, that plane has numerous modifications which make it really fun and interesting.

I’d get P-38 and the La-5FN for sure.

I forgot the P38.  It is a great plane to have if you like using a fighter to drop bombs as it has a huge bomb load and then turns into a pretty good fighter.  Minus points are that it is pretty big so easy to spot and can't take a lot of damage before the tail breaks.

I see many people recommend the hurricane so I should point out that its minus point is that it is outrun by nearly everything.  If your enemy wants to turn fight or you are able to dive on someone to get extra speed then you will be very happy with it but if they decide to run away while still out of gun range then you may as well give up and that wont stop them coming back with more energy as soon as you turn away.  That means that any time you enter a fight you need to be sure you can kill them quickly or damage them enough that they run away permanently because you can never disengage on your own terms without help.

Hey, I already own the Spit mkvb, mc202, and p40, but im not sure what other planes might be worth it since its a sale.

Sounds like you gravitate towards early war designs. Meaning you're not (yet) interested in +400MPH performance, which generally becomes commonplace in '43 and beyond.

If that's the case, then yeah, like others have said, the Hurricane would be right up your alley.

I'd also suggest the Fw-190 A-3, since it's vintage '41, and in my opinion, by far the best pure dogfighter of the Fw series.

Yak-1B, Yak-9 and 9T are all good choices for early to mid-war performance planes. Very easy handling, not excessive amounts of engine power to work with.

For pure dogfighting, the plain 9 is the best. For offensive power, the 9T.
