Anyone know why the IL-2 reddit is inactive?

It seems to have changed to requiring moderator approval to post and nothing has been posted for about 2 weeks...

I read on one of the facebook groups that some guy's account was blocked/frozen by reddit, the moderator, I guess.  Not much of a reddit user, so don't know how that works.  Apparently there's a smaller group set up to take the refugees until this one goes back online.

I see r/il2sturmovik showing up just fine, same with the smaller r/il2.

 

Whatever was going on may be fixed by now?

I tried posting some time ago and it told me that, that it needed moderator approval. I sen't a PM to whom I think was the mod with no reply. So I stopped trying

Yes, the only mod of the group got banned/locked, and I don't know if that locked down the sub, or if he locked it and then got banned.  Either way, nobody can post in the Big subreddit r/il2sturmovik.  You can still look at it though.

There is a smaller sub, r/il2 and that one is active, several of us have moved there for now. 

 

One of the FB mods has been in 'talks' with reddit and the original mod to get control of the sub, or somehow get it back open for business.

Yep. So, here's the story folks. GridiroN had his account suspended. I don't know the reason and it doesn't matter but the short of it is that any communities connected to the suspended account are then locked out. Days ago I submitted a request to Reddit which was initially rejected by their automatic bot. I appealed and I got a message that it's under review but that it can take several days to sort out.

 

So I am waiting patiently. I am hoping to secure mod access to the community, open things up, and then install a few more mods so that we don't run into this situation again.
