Truly White Sherman

When our group (SCG) had an event recently, that pitted Shermans against Panzer IVs in a winter scenario, we found that the basic winter skins weren't... white enough. They would still stand out even at a distance. And if you look at historical photographs, the Sherman tanks really were very white sometimes, incredibly some photos show them almost whiter than the snow itself.

I therefore took it up to put an end to this problem and make some really white Sherman tanks.

 

So really this is just a mini-project, but I might do more of them at some point in the future.

Excellent looking Sherman. I may have to check out that template. Silly question how is it different from the default template included in TC?

Thank you. What template do you mean? The skin template? I believe the one by Digitalforms and ICDP is the official one.

 

If by "template" you mean the standard white skin:

I have added a new spoiler below the historical photos. There you can see the standard ingame white skin for the sherman, which is a lot less white and visible from a mile away.

OK. I need to download the default template then and take a look.

 

It's unfortunate that such a great skin can't be seen by all unless it's in your skins folder. Perhaps, TC will get some love after Normandy is released and new, better skins will be added to the default skins.
