Use of Fog

Has anybody experienced the use of the fog. How to have fog low on the ground independently of the cloud type. Is it possible to have fog layer in midday. I made some tries and I got it to work once but it is not clear how it really works. There are too many combinations between cloud types their altitude level, the time of the day to test, and is Haze also connected to have fog or it is independent of it.

Yes, I've used fog. It only works in the morning and evening though; just after sunrise and just before sunset are the best times. Haze is connected to the fog; the more haze, the more fog you'll have. Since the last update it's no longer connected to the cloud type though. Also, it only works in valleys. The Arras map with its Somme river valley looks pretty nice.
