DragonDaddy Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 I’m currently using a single ButtKicker with SimShaker software, and it’s very enjoyable. Been thinking about adding a second ButtKicker and running the two in stereo. Is anyone running this configuration? Im curious if it is worth the cost and setup time and if two ButtKickers (or two bass shakers) gives a noticeable difference. Any insights, tips, experiences or horror stories you can share are appreciated.
Donik Posted January 22, 2022 Posted January 22, 2022 Interested as well. I've got 1 mounted to my office chair and was really interested to know if 2 would be worth it from a stereo perspective. In the meantime, I strongly suggest you check out the Troubleshooting section at the bottom of this link. One thing that made a big difference for me was using the special set of samples they have recorded for people who's sound cards don't have a "mono" mode (mine only goes to stereo). It added a lot more detail to the different vibration patterns. 1
DragonDaddy Posted January 22, 2022 Author Posted January 22, 2022 I checked out the link and Andre’s suggestion is definitely worth a try. Thanks for the tip!
JG1_Schulte Posted January 23, 2022 Posted January 23, 2022 (edited) ~S~ I use 4 transducers in my system. 2 on the sides of my chair, 1 in my back rest, and 1 at my peddles. Stereo separation including front and back is interesting. I rearranged and modified the .wav's frequencies to suit my system. What I learned, with lots experiments (I wanted the roll "vibes" at real wing tips, and pitch vibes, real fore and aft) that in order to get that feeling of distance IE real wide stereo separation. You have to put the transducers at a real distance, to feel distance. I tried this with an 8 ft 2x4, transducers at the ends, mounted to my set up. Worked. Really everything depends, on where the transducers are mounted, and where the vibrations pass. My system, I feel the left, and rights (stereo) and the fore and afts. Because the vibes, come through my stick and throttle (left and right, hands) peddles (feet) backrest (aft). Vibes through my chair, are mono'ish (fabric chair) So stereo absolutely, but you have to get the vibes where your body is going to feel left and right. But its all physiological anyway. Wont play Great battles without SimShaker! The vibes give a lot of aircraft intel. Good Luck Moxy Edited January 23, 2022 by JG1_Schulte 1

I’ll use this for now but still would like to hear from others using two ButtKickers. 1
