Key binding problems in VR

Sorry if its been asked before, but its a hard one to find a term to search for. Basically in other sims I have always reserved a button on the throttle controller to use as a sort of shift/contol/alt key as I cant see or use a keyboard. It allows you to double up on the number of keys you have in VR as you need all you can get at your fingertips. For example I have 4 weapon fire buttons on the top of the joystick and by pressing this button as well it now gives me 8 buttons to use for weapons or whatever, etc etc... so its important. Problem is IL2 only seems to allow multi key binds using the keybard shift/contol/alt key, so I cant have for example joy_1_b1+joy_2_b3 as a binding. I can have ctl+ or shift+ or alt+, but like I said, in VR you cant find it easily. Is there some way round this I have missed somewhere? TIA

There is some programme, like vjoy and joystick gremlin.

They do exactly what you need, but I'm afraid I don't remember how to set them ?..

Fixed it with joy to key, so now I have a button on my throttle that acts as shift and one that acts as control. Brilliant, I have a thousand joystick buttons now
