Near or far sighted? I'm near sighted and use prescription lens inserts that fit over the headset lenses. They are not expensive relative to the cost of all of the rest of flight sim peripherals and software, and are available from a number of companies for the popular headsets. It's much more comfortable than wearing glasses with the device.

I used the VR with glasses: it's not the best option but still you can do that with not any big problems. (Reverb G1)

In any case now I prefer to use the lenses.

About the keyboard:

If you have a hotas bind there the most important things, then you still have some easy key usable even while you are blind (space bar, arrows, Pag up/down, num pad enter...)

I would also recommend looking into VirtualNeckSaver (there is a thread about it on this forum)  It is free and helps you look behind because VR is not 'Geared' like TrackIr is so to turn 180 degrees you have to *really* twist your head & body 180 degrees which can be an issue with a heavy headset on.   It allows you to set points where it will add an extra 10-40 degrees of 'twist' in the pilots view.   It is not gradual like in TrackIR and I don't like the jumps. Instead I have it set with just one jump at 100 degrees that adds another 30 which is enough, with shoulder twist and eye movement to see all the way behind.  One issue I had though, which not every suffers,  is that it would not work alongside my Saitek joystick software so I was unable to use the 'shift' button to double up what commands I could have on my HOTAS.  I ended up buying a button box to get more switches and knobs (easier to navigate by feel than a keyboard) and still had to dig out my VoiceAttack software to add a few of the more unusual ones.

I don't have to look at keyboard for anything anymore. I've created an extensive VoiceAttack profile that even allows me to control RPM, oil and radiator shutters, WEP, turbo/supercharger levers, etc by voice commands.

If you mean how do you manage controls without the keyboard then Voice Attack is your friend. Im not saying its easy to set up but its very effective once you do. Many people who wear glasses find they do not necessarily need to in VR.  But if you do then the Q2 has a spacer to make room for wearing them.  There are solutions but it is still a time consuming business getting the best out of VR unless you have a very powerful system and a lot of money ... I have neither but Im still blown away !! Good luck

Yep. I wear glasses with the Rift S (shot-sighted). No problems at all. You don't really notice them.

The keyboard could be an issue, but the trick it to map as many buttons as you can on your HOTAS. All I need in the thick of combat is properly mapped. I only have a few things left out that are easy to reach on the keyboard when things are quiet on a mission, like the navigation lights for example.

VoiceAttack seems like it would be a good option for VR users. I don’t have VR but do use it with a monitor. Less important commands like canopy, parking brake, views, bombay , flare, etc can be voiced instead of fumbling for keys. Just a thought.

If you have a nice HoTaS you don’t need stuff like that. I have basically any command I could ever need bound to my stick or throttle.

Voice attack is a great program I have been using it for years.

And yeah this sim is drop dead gorgeous in VR.

Are you using FSR scaling??  I avoid MSAA and use FXAA4x with lot's of FSR scaling.  FSR scaling really helps ALOT!

I have a 3090 now but still using FSR scaling and it lets you scale up way beyond 100% but you are rendering a bit below 100%.

If you render 70% but scale to 200% with FSR it's much better looking and better fps then 100% with now FSR scaling.

No I'm not. FSR adds some artifacts of its own and I prefer to keep my setup simple.

VR is the game changer for flight sims and IL2 gives it pure eye candy.
