Super_Tonton Posted January 21, 2022 Posted January 21, 2022 Nice! I have the standard KG12 on a gunfighter base with an extention and really like it. The extra trigger is a nice addition.
kestrel79 Posted January 27, 2022 Posted January 27, 2022 Looks cool but not enough buttons for me. 2
Drum Posted January 27, 2022 Posted January 27, 2022 My new throttle grip is finally here, hooray! Well, at least they are teasing us with it; it won't ship until March... Looks good though!
Beazil Posted January 27, 2022 Posted January 27, 2022 (edited) I would have changed the top thumb button for a five way hat switch if I could but it should be a nice upgrade from the original. Should have made it metal too imho. As for the throttle, that's a clever way to do it with the throttle quadrant. I wonder if their jet throttle might work the same way. I asked over at their forum today if the WWII throttle will take up two axis slots for the Twin Engine Control System (TECS), and one of their reps said "absolutely not." 1
DragonDaddy Posted February 12, 2022 Posted February 12, 2022 Can this also be used as a standalone unit or does it need an additional component to have it work? I read all I could find about it but am still unclear.
Beazil Posted February 12, 2022 Posted February 12, 2022 Looks like it clips onto the vkb throttle trio directly but Lukeff was on the case already and shared his info (Ty Luke!). It really does look like it would take up two of the three throttle arms doesn't it? Nice to hear it won't but having trouble picturing it visually. It appears to mount on two arms. I don't get how the buttons communicate with the whole rig without some wiring either. We'll see when it is released I suppose.

I read all I could find about it but am still unclear. This throttle knob is for use in the GNX THQ quadrant module - originally a 3 axes, 8 buttons unit. Probable the second axis used by the two levers - due stability, is redirect as the 6 buttons in the knob. The GNX THQ module is "brainless", need to plugged and controlled by some VKB joystick, or have installed inside the HID controller board, the more practical option, became a standalone throttle, with two axes. 27 minutes ago, JG51_Beazil said: It really does look like it would take up two of the three throttle arms doesn't it? Nice to hear it won't but having trouble picturing it visually. What Luke was talking is about the - not released; VKB TECS (Twin Engine Control System), a dual throttle "jet" oriented, no similarities with the GNX THQ "WWII". In the GNX THQ module - originally 3 axes, 8 buttons; the "Fw 190" style knob use two axes levers position - to have stability, but control only one axis, the second axis is disabled or perhaps reassign as buttons, since the knob add 6 buttons to the THQ. 1CGS LukeFF Posted April 12, 2022 Author 1CGS Posted April 12, 2022 I went ahead and bought the new KG 12 stick for my Gunfighter base, since we now know that customized per-plane input profiles are coming to IL2. I'd always wanted another WWII style grip since I had one of the old Black Mamba ones ages ago that had the buttons and knobs at the base. Anyways, the improved grip texture is a nice improvement, and the 8-way hat is the best I've used. There's no accidentally clicking the wrong button with this design. ?? 1 2

Oh man I did not realize we were going to get the ability to have custom input profiles per plane in this sim! That is awesome news , I have been wanting that for so very long!! Edit: Just read the latest DD, yeah I am runnin a little behind lol. Fantastic news, looks like it will be awesome! Edited April 12, 2022 by dburne

TECS plus this new WWII grip is what I'm really waiting for. ?? 1

Nice, nice - yeah the custom profiles will really help manage the controls and lessen (some) of the need for additional buttons. Just received the new Gladiator NXT EVO a few weeks back with the KG12... the quality is quite impressive and the additional details add up nicely including the grip - it feels ~ very business like, refined and solid. Love the ergonomics on the stick itself; and credit to the original KG12 design... the flip trigger action is ridiculously satisfying! ? Hope you have fun flying with it!

Yes, I had the chance to fly with it last night for the first time. It's everything I hoped it would be - just enough buttons that I need and a great ergonomic feeling. 3
Lemmi Posted May 7, 2022 Posted May 7, 2022 (edited) But we need 128 buttons per usb-device to widely use the shift function. Edited May 7, 2022 by Lemmi
