Cliffs of Dover: an accurate and precise simulator

After a dogfight over the English Channel my Spitfire MkIa got some damage from the bullets of a 109 E-4 and, leaving some smoke behind my aircraft, even seeing that flames came out of my left-side exhaust, I was forced to go back to England.

 

When I was almost sure I was about to make it (as I was on my way on the final approach to the nearest airfield) I switched to external view (exceptionally enabled as I usually do not allow external views) and noticed that the fumes came from one cylinder only. That latter had been set on fire by a German bullet which impact was clearly visible on the nose of my Spit. Nevertheless, I managed to land safely.

What a joy to have at our disposal such a level of detail and accuracy. I definitely love this sim.

The detail is great. Have had an ammo belt getting cut by shrapnel in the 110 etc.
