HP Reverb G2 loss of 6dof ONLY in IL-2 and still not seeing pilots in cockpits

I always try to eliminate things on my end before posting a problem, but this one really does seem specific to IL2. I cannot maintain 6dof in this sim but have tested it without any problems at all in DCS, ED, and FS2020.

I always make sure I have 6dof in the WMR portal first and also ensure I am lined up properly in SteamVR before launching IL2. The lighting in my space is fine and I have tried re-doing the environment and seated play setup as well. Works fine, in the other sims, always moves my cockpit around with my head in IL2.

I also just did a full re-install of IL2 and that did not solve the problem.

ALSO:

I am still having the issue of not seeing small targets (AA) and pilots in cockpits when spawning in. Imagine this: when I look to my right, I see a 109 with no top part of the cockpit and no pilot. When I move my flight stick to the right a little, the pilot and cockpit come into view. Release the stick to center, pilot and cockpit disappear. This becomes a problem when approaching enemy targets, because the AA will not render except at certain angles.

I am certain that I am centering myself and this is still happening. I use the in-game VR reset, I ensure I am on the center arrow in SteamVR, I even use the controller and do the SteamVR reset standing position (never says seated position for some reason) and that doesn't make a difference. This is incredibly frustrating and I'm not sure why nobody else is posting similar issues!

For the latter problem this is obviously a camera binding. Perhaps you, like most of us at some point, had tried to make turrets usable by joystick and the "move pilot head" or similar bindings are set to use your stick. There's a bug in IL2 that not all cameras that affect optimizations are bound to the VR viewport so sometimes you might be triggering one of these inactive cameras which causes said optimizations to kick in (the game essentially thinks you are not looking in the direction you are).

Very good out of the box thinking Firdimigdi. This would be my best bet on the issue as well, it makes sense.

THANK YOU SO MUCH. You are my hero lol I went through and deleted any mention of my joystick axis from tank, turret and weapon controls and, sure enough, I can now see everything again. It was so frustrating, thanks again.
