Air_Combat_Group Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 (edited) The Air Combat Group consists of both Allied and Axis squadrons under a single operational umbrella flying with full realism settings. Our group has members located in Europe, Australia and the Americas and meet on our own Teamspeak 3 server. Our pilots are interested in the history of World War II air combat on all fronts, seeking immersive air combat in the theatres of the time through historical campaign and other online activities. By supporting both sides of the conflict we can create parity in theatre and achieve common ground across the group, ultimately we seek to mirror the numbers flying on each side and support increasingly large campaigns. Our objective is to provide a relaxed, non-competitive and friendly environment in which to enjoy combat operations and full campaigns. However, we all feel pre-mission nerves are we approach Sunday's zero hour! All standards are welcome regardless of experience, we will try to place new pilots in their preferred faction if there are available spaces. The squadrons/staffels within the group are historically based and the missions we fly are selected for their historical accuracy whether on our public server or in campaign. You will receive a campaign livery lovingly crafted by our team of skinners and your own aircraft number/code, this you keep for the duration of your time with ACG. Group and squadron objectives are to re-enact the history, to attempt to be a part of being there, to learn about some of the experiences that were faced by the young pilots who fought for their countries in World War II and to honour them by understanding more about what they faced. If this sounds of interest to you we are welcoming new pilots of any standard or experience, even if you've never flown before - all you need is a capable PC that can run IL-2 Sturmovik: Battle of Stalingrad and a headset/microphone. There's a possibility that we will fly IL-2 Sturmovik: Cliffs of Dover Blitz again in the future, but this will probably depend on full VR implementation. Feel free to join our TS3 comms or forum anytime and ask about joining. 2022 marks our 10th year of ACG It seems inconceivable that such a small community could harbour and support Air Combat Group for so long as we celebrate our 10th anniversary, however here we are and that must be testament to the constant interest, enthusiasm and passion for the battles of the skies in World War 2. This common interest in immersion brings us together week in week out and helps provide the support for developers of their combat flight sim genre, and we are proud to be a part of it. To celebrate this anniversary we're kicking off with our first campaign 'Wacht am Rhein' (Watch over the Rhine), if you would like to be a part of the next 10 years you can sign up today by getting in touch, all standards welcome. javelina Posted January 12, 2022 Posted January 12, 2022 Congrats ACG, on your 10 years! I flew with these folks back in 2013-14. I really miss the times with some of the old guard from back then. But indeed, congrats, and best wishes! 2
