ironk79 Posted January 7, 2022 Posted January 7, 2022 (edited) Made a (up to 4 players) Coop version of my SP mission "Mustangs over Korea" July 29th 1950, Korea F-51D from the 18th Fighter Bomber Wing have been transfered to south Korea to slow the advancing north korean forces in this early stage of the war. Mainly by attacking designated targets or patrolling the area for enemy tanks, convoys, artillery or troop concentrations. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Since there is no Korea Map in IL2, i tried to recreate the look and feel of burned out mountains of a late summer south Korea. I used units as close as possible, of course within the limitations of the existing game. Since i fly only VR, missions are also created with good performance in mind. Mission also has voice overs for higher immersion. This mission is highly randomized regarding, encounteres with enemy air/ground units giving it a high replay value. Main task are patrol and CAS missions, but air to air encounters are likely. You have all the liberties how to approach your mission, if you follow your primary target, attack enemy fighters or react to CAS calls in the running mission. Mission mechanics: You start in your parking area, your sortie is chosen randomly and is shown via subtitle (make sure to activate your HUD). You can choose your loadout before the mission, standard loadout consists of bombs and rockets. Home airfield has AAA defense and RRR station (Truck next to your parking area, 300m radius) if you need to rearm and refuel to get back into action. In case you ran out of bullets and are chased home, you can call for backup. Simply fly over the green smoke marker, marked "A2A Backup" on your map (about 10km northeast of your Airfield). "Bullring" can be "called" by every coop player. Additional calls for CAS (f.e. warehouse bombing, cover ambushed unit, help unit under artillery fire) are possible in the running mission. There are many randomized convoys, trains, camps and enemy planes active and changing with every new mission, so no mission plays like the other. Had to make some changes to the mission mechanics, mainly deactivating allied AI flights "Bluebird" and "Ripper" and also giving more enemy ground and air units you can encounter. Other than that, triggers should work for every Coop aircraft (but triggers can only be triggered ones, who comes first, triggers the event) Missions: 1 - Offensive Patrol: Patrol designated area. You are free to engage enemy air and ground targets. 2 - CAS against T-34 unit: Assist our tanks in the attack against north korean tank formation in sector 1434/3 3 - Search and destroy artillery: Search and destroy artillery postions in sector 1533 4 - Attack Tank Convoy: Attack armored convoy heading south in sector 1635 5 - Attack train station: Attack the enemy tanks and supplies at the train station in sector marked on the map 6 - Cover Armored Convoy: Head out to sector 1731/9 and cover armored column moving out to support M4 tanks. 7 - Destroy Bridge: Destroy the bridge in sector marked on your map. 8 - Destroy Torpedo boats: 2 north Korean torpedo boats are heading towards us, last seen in sector 1826. Leave a comment if you encounter any major bugs, you can also report on the sorties you had, always interesting how sometimes things turn out. Forge1986 Posted January 7, 2022 Posted January 7, 2022 hi dude. me and a buddy been trying to get this working multiplayer. we seem to both be able to host it but it freezes our games when we try to join eachother. any idea what we doing wrong?

Mtnbiker1998 Posted January 8, 2022 Posted January 8, 2022 Haven't gotten the boys together to fly it coop yet, but I did a test sortie on my own and so far it's great!! Love the radio voiceovers especially. No issues that I could see, its a fun change of pace putting the Mustang against Yaks and I even downed some U-2s! First time I'd actually seen them in a mission. I can also personally attest to Szelljr's skins adding quite a bit to the Immersion ? looking forward to flying this a lot more, the most beautiful plane on the most beautiful map is a match made in heaven! 1

GSHWK_Houndstone_Hawk Posted January 29, 2022 Posted January 29, 2022 (edited) Unfortunately this isn't going to work as a Cooperative mission as the creator has set it up as 'Single Player'. You will have to go in to the mission editor, change the mission type to 'Cooperative' & also check the 'Cooperative' box in each playable plane's properties. Also ensure that the translator: media MCU's are pointing to the right location. ? May well be that you've mistakenly downloaded a 'single player' variant of the mission?! ? Maybe there's another link that I'm unaware of but the link here is for a Single Player mission called 'MoK' Cheers btw ... (raises a bottle of Birra Moretti in admiration ?). **EDIT** It's since been changed. The poster has corrected it & put the 'coop' version in its place as the zip is now called MoK_coop ? I myself wasnt able to get coop working again after changing my ISP last year. Now i have to deal with IPV6. Before i could open Coop server and others were able to connect / download files. Maybe for you its the same problem, unfortunatly i havent found a way (with reasonable effort and cost) to make coop working again.

Having the same problem with the other gentlman's training missions. I have doublechecked the "coop" status of the file.

I also confirmed the file is set to cooperative in the mission editor. I think the issue has something to do with file paths that are listed in the *.list file included here but none of the changes I have tried seem to fix it.

Spidey002 Posted May 12, 2022 Posted May 12, 2022 I wonder if it has to do with the media files. None of the other coop or multiplayer experiences I've been a part of have had those.

I managed to add an airfield, and when I load the game, it randomly picks one of the missions, so that seems to work. But some things don’t. I don’t see any enemy aircraft in the sky. I use the Complex dogfight example mission included with the game for training newbies and generally screwing around. That will probably suit you much better than trying to tweak this mission. 1

Since a lot of the mission logic is tied into the “Player” aircraft, I turned him into an AI flight who takes off shortly after me. Now all the AI flights work again! Can’t wait to get into this with my friends!
