354thFG_Rails Posted January 7, 2022 Posted January 7, 2022 (edited) No. Fuel system is currently getting reworked. But all those other systems are not modeled to take damage as far as I’ve seen. Edited January 7, 2022 by QB.Rails

I know something about droptanks, but that is not the only reason?

Hopefully more control to the player in how to use multiple fuel tanks, which should be linked to the additional control needed to integrate drop tanks on some of the planes
No_Face Posted January 8, 2022 Posted January 8, 2022 I am not a specialist at all but, at the time, there were self-sealing tanks, currently in play, the leaks are never re-sealed, right? Maybe the new system will allow that.

Maybe the new system will allow that. Only guesswork in older threads, it seems. A bit off topic (or not if i wanna see other damage model improvement), but i am worried that it is announced for such a long time, and first drop tanks should have been released 1 or 2 updates ago. Drop tanks for the 109 if i am not mistaken.
Denum Posted January 8, 2022 Posted January 8, 2022 Fuel system is more then just adding drop tanks I think. AnP is pretty fussy so it will be worth the wait. As far as the rest, It requires a level of modeling we don't have just yet. Maybe one day though.

Don't know if the player will have more control over fuel tank selection though. Again I could be completely wrong about the level of detail, just a guess.

I also doubt that we will get more control, even though the FW190 fuel switch drives me and my squadron nuts every single time we wanna communicate our fuel supply.

Additionally the way the fuel system works in the A3 and A5 has to be changed to the way it works in the A8 (except of course that they didn't have the extra tank behind the pilot). The front tank should stay full until the rear tank is empty. That even the release of the complex fuel system of the 109 needs so much time, however it is very simple compared to fuel systems of other aircrafts, shows how difficult the changes seem to be.
