soupdragon Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Is anyone else getting this? I have quite distinct banding in the sky especially at dawn and dusk. I also see rings around the moon. I am using Ultra settings with 8xAA at 1820 x1080 and I am getting a steady 60fps. I have tried to take screenshots in Fraps but for some strange reason the banding doesn't show up in them. is anyone else seeing this? Cheers SD
dburne Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Has been a few weeks since I have launched BOS, but yes I typically see banding as well.
dburne Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Good. So it's not just me then Nope, and it is not your monitor either.
Madov Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) Yes, this banding of the sky is distinctly visible over Stalingrad where the columns of smoke rise and then get unnaturally split at this demarcation. Edited July 11, 2014 by MADOV
1./KG4_Blackwolf Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 It's twice as long as an mule's semi-anniversary. Best answer I've heard! Can you change that into dog years?
soupdragon Posted July 12, 2014 Author Posted July 12, 2014 (edited) Its is 42 isn't it? or is that the meaning of life? I always get them mixed up SD Edited July 12, 2014 by soupdragon
AndyJWest Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 Yes. I really wish we were using 48/42bit colour. Unfortunately we're still stuck using relatively low color depth and have been for donkey's years. Um, if the one on the left is '42 Bit Color', how is it showing on my 32-bit display? 1 1

LizLemon Posted July 12, 2014 Posted July 12, 2014 If I had to guess, the banding is probably due to their implementation of hdr. Thus is something that happens when you don't have enough bit depth for the buffer. Pretty dissapointing mistake tbh. Its very noticeable on my ips monitor. 1
