SvAF/F16_Goblin Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 Type of improvement: Control/Interface/Gameplay Explanation of proposals: As it is today multiple functions can be mapped to one input (linking of throttle and pitch to same axis as example) causing unrealistic possibilities in multiplayer combat and in reality is an exploit that put those of us treating this as a simulator wanting the most realistic experience possible in disadvantage. By this I don't mean that those planes (P-47) that had the means to link some controls should loose that function or the possibility to map all trim to the same button/axis since this is logical. In reality controls couldn't be linked thus meaning operation of one or perhaps two items simultaneously and since "anthropomorphic control" is highly unpopular this would be the next best thing. Benefits: More realism in how players operates and fly leading to a more realistic employment of tactics and survival online 1 1 1
SharpeXB Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 (edited) Double mapping is useful since many aircraft do not share commands. For example trim and adjustable stabilizer can assigned to the same control. The default key mapping contains many double assignments by necessity. Edited January 5, 2022 by SharpeXB 5

Dude, just go fly the airplane and have fun. If you're a good pilot, someone with a double bound axis is not going to shoot you down. Next we'll need to start limiting people's hardware because someone with a $600 stick is gonna have an advantage over the T16000 guy. 5

Yep, I remember these same sorts of arguments being thrown around when TrackIR started becoming popular. Some things just never change. ? 1
[CPT]Crunch Posted January 5, 2022 Posted January 5, 2022 Waste of time, you can still do it with thrustmaster software, or other external stick software, been that way forever. The days of instant trim are long in the past, there's nothing real here left to fear, so get gooder.
Yogiflight Posted January 7, 2022 Posted January 7, 2022 As long as players can use HOTAS sticks, there would be no real benefit. With the right mapping you can do everything, which helps you in dogfights at the same time, anyway.
