Martini007 Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 (edited) Gotta problem. Whenever i try to take off in the stuka in a multiplayer server, i can never gain enough speed. When I'm using the quick missions i can take off easy. The throttle will be all the way up, but still cant get over 200kph. I realized it must be the RPM limiter, but whenever i use the default combination (Lsht+N) nothing happens, besides a little hatch opening beneath the center console. What am i doing wrong? Thanks, Martini Edited January 4, 2022 by Martini007
ghostly_doggo Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 The stuka I believe has a pitch lever (i dont really fly the stuka but this is true for most prop aircraft) you set the rpm then the pitch and that will give you an increase in speed. There are a few tutorials on YouTube for the stuka air combat tutorial library has one of the best and will be able to explain it for better than most can. Hope this helps a little bit!
ACG_Bobo Posted January 4, 2022 Posted January 4, 2022 I fly the Stuka a lot. I fly with a whole bunch of guys who fly the Stuka a lot. We have found that if you tie the RPM control (prop pitch) to the throttle slider (ATA) you will achieve 100% both RPM and ATA when you advance the slider to full open. Just a suggestion. We also have pilots who do NOT tie the keys together and are successful as well but have engine damage from time to time due to poor management. Damage occurs when you have too much head pressure (ATA) for your RPM (prop pitch). Always advance the prop pitch first when accelerating and vice versa when decelerating. Also folks will suggest that you make sure all is properly calibrated. Good Luck!

Martini Yes, it's a RPM problem, but to make things easier avoid to load the 1000kg bomb and reduce the fuel quantity (400 Liters will be enough for more than 1 hour of flight) Probably you have some "engine management" help activated when you play in single player, but is disabled in the multiplayer server you are trying to fly. Do this: Go to settings -> key mapping -> engine controls. Bind a key to increase and decrease RPM. (There will be a two "voices" similar, like "increase propeller pitch" and "increase rpm". I never found out which one is the stuka one, but in any case I have them on the same key since they do the same job for different aircrafts) Then as soon as you spawn in multiplayer look at your bottom left: You will see two levers, one is the throttle and the other one the rpm control. Move both of them full forward. You will also see two messages in the technochat: - throttle 100% - rpm 100%. Now you can take off! P.s. You will probably face two new problems: 1) throttle&rpm management As soon as you are airborne reduce throttle to 92% and rpm to 87%. This are the maximum climb setting for the stuka. You can keep this for more or less 30 minutes, so as soon as you are at the desired altitude reduce to 77% both of them. (Max climbing settings for other German bombers: 90% throttle and 87% rpm) 2) radiators In your cockpit you will find a couple of gauges that will indicate your water and oil temperature. Keep them around 80°, to do that you have to open or close your water and oil radiators. If you want to know more look at this: https://www.mudspike.com/chucks-guides-il-2-clod-junkers-ju-87/ Even if it's not made for IL2 you will find a lot of useful info, especially about your cockpit gauges and levers. Let me know if you managed to solve your problem! Edited January 4, 2022 by ITAF_Airone1989 1 1
Martini007 Posted January 4, 2022 Author Posted January 4, 2022 (edited) Thanks so much for the help! i will try your doing those things and will get back too you if it is still not working or if have more questions thanks! Edited January 4, 2022 by Martini007
Martini007 Posted January 5, 2022 Author Posted January 5, 2022 alrighty, it works! I was able to figure out the RPM switch and takeoff! Thanks so much for your help! Martini 1 1
kestrel79 Posted January 9, 2022 Posted January 9, 2022 Not taking the giant bomb plus too much fuel helped me the most when learning the ju-87
