ai fighters randomly crashing?

whats with the ai fighters in QMB just plummeting into the ground in holy matrimony? not all of them do it but as i position myself behind them they just dive and kaboom. bug?

Yes.
I noticed this and questioned it a couple of updates ago.
It only happens for me occasionally.
I also get the occasional (like the other day) scenario where I empty an entire MG and cannon mag into an enemy and they keep flying. I have captured this in the past and confirmed hits. The latest one I did not record, but I sat on his tail for about half an hour after emptying my mags until he finally went down. The post battle screen told me that I had NO kills.
I don't get too worked up by it, as it is a rare occurrence and all computer sims have their little weird bits.

I thought it wasnt as bad since a couple of updates but yeah I do see it still, occasionnally. Strangely enough, its almost always when the AI is flying a 109. 

 

In careers, it doesnt happen to me when I pursue an AI plane, its when I have several on my arse, trying to get me at very low alt. You maneuver and once in a while when you check 6, you see a 109 kamikazing a squirrel. 

 

Something happens with the AI when its trying, at low alt, to get behind a slower opponent while avoiding collision with friendly aircrafts. At this point, the ground becomes an abstract concept it seems.
