savagebeest Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 so i decided to use the standalone version to support the devs and because for some reason it runs better than on steam. my problem is, i own all battles on the standalone except for battle of kuban. i know i cannot transfer from steam to standalone and thats fine. but im trying to buy a russian la-5 collector plane but on checkout it says i can only buy it as a gift because my account shows i already own it (on steam, battle of kuban) is there a way around this? can i buy it as a gift to myself?
Strewth Posted December 31, 2021 Posted December 31, 2021 I had a similar issue. Only with BoS and I had a mess because of sign up. The Support section (https://il2sturmovik.com/support/) were great and helped me out when I could not get any further. It might take a few days for them to reply, but they do help you and are good to deal with. I repurchased BoS and have only flown directly through IL-2 since, as I find it more stable and easier to sort. Cheers. 1
savagebeest Posted January 3, 2022 Author Posted January 3, 2022 I figured it out. You gotta remove the game from steam and its dlcs (at least the ones you'll want on the standalone version) To do this you have to click on support on the top drop downs. Then select il2 and permanently remove from account as well as said DLCs. Hope this helps someone later some day. 1
