216th_Xenos Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Hi all, I have been using facetracknoir for about half a year now for a couple of games and have had no problems with it. It also works incredibly well with IL2 BOS, however, I am unable to look straight up as it limits itself to 45 degrees 'up pitch' and does not go the full 90 degrees. I was wondering whether other people were experiencing the same issue with this software or if it is normal across the board?
snowsnipersnow_sniper Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 Yes same issue for freetrack and facetracknoir No more problem like that with opentrack. Curve adjust is easier. Opentrack still experimental but do the job well.
216th_Xenos Posted July 11, 2014 Author Posted July 11, 2014 Cheers for the reply, I have downloaded the zip file for opentrack, but there doesn't appear to be any installing applications or anything as such. I have not found any information on their github section either, could you possibly help me with it?
snowsnipersnow_sniper Posted July 11, 2014 Posted July 11, 2014 (edited) look first at this thread you must find some help here; http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/3215-facetracknoir-users-check-if-you-can-look-90deg/?hl=%2Bfacetrack http://forum.il2sturmovik.com/topic/6418-problems-head-movement-point-tracker/?hl=%2Bfacetrack&do=findComment&comment=119068 for opentrack here is my settings: First you need a cap with 3 led on it or 3 reflectiv piece of tapes. Facetracknoir can work without led or cap, but neither Freetrack ou opentrack as i know ( if it does i don't know how to do it maybe in the link below) Unrar the file (I used 7-Zip) in the place you want it to be* Run opentrack.exe* Select point tracker 1.1, and select your camera in tracker settings, use freetrack protocol* Select the Accela Filter Mk4 filter ( an alternative filter can be downloaded, search on this forum or on atag forum)* Go into Mapping and update Yaw and Pitch curves so that the raw values get translated into in-game joystick ( I can send you a screenshoot if needed )* Press Start and adjust your cam settings. Go to options --> controls and scroll down the the headlook mode options at the bottom of the control settings Set Headlook mode to DIRECT Set the Look Up & Down axis by looking up Set the Look Left & Right axis by looking left you may need to select to invert the axis (I had to invert look left/right) IMPORTANT: Go to the Mode Switches part of the control options and Bind something useful to "Toggle Head Look". When flying the headlook will not respond until you toggle it on! I beleive when accessing some options menus or hyperspacing this toggles off again so you need to turn it back on occasionally. Finally, in opentrack application is a button near the bottom left called "Keys". Open that an bind something convenient to "Center" so that you can reset where your head neutral point is. 216th_Xenos Posted July 11, 2014 Author Posted July 11, 2014 Alright, I'll give it a go, I appreciate all the help, again cheers
1PL-Banzai-1Esk Posted July 14, 2014 Posted July 14, 2014 I tried most of the free tracking solutions and then got TrackIR and it's so much better. I know it is expensive but I would encourage any flightsims fan to save up and treat yourself to the best tracking solution out there.
216th_Xenos Posted July 25, 2014 Author Posted July 25, 2014 Does anybody have an opentrack profile I could use for il2 bos? I don't appear to be able to move my head from side to side. Also the centering puts the aiming reticle to the left a bit.
snowsnipersnow_sniper Posted July 26, 2014 Posted July 26, 2014 Hi i have a ps3 eye it works well if my room is dark as it is no Ir led. ( 70 fps ) threshold & hysteris on the left side opentrack.zip 545.02KB 0 downloads here all my Profiles for BOS / CLOD / DCS in the zip file and screenshots of settings if needed.
Fliegenpilz Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 Hey guys, Found this thread which describes exactly the problem I have with OpenTrack right now. Anybody noticed the same in OpenTrack? (I am using the latest stable version, Opentrack 2.2 end-of-alpha) Cheers
Fliegenpilz Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 Ok, I found out it works perfectly with OpenTrack 2.2a2...
Zettman Posted November 11, 2014 Posted November 11, 2014 S! Can opentrack be used with the TrackIR camera? Just asking because I have some selfbuild led caps that are working with TrackIR, but you never now if the other software might be superior. Zettman
III/JG52_Otto_-I- Posted October 21, 2016 Posted October 21, 2016 (edited) I have the FacetrackNOir 1.7 installed from years ago, and I suffered the problem of angle of view limitation in the pitch axis, and I could not look upward in the cockpit, and only in this game. Finally i found a solution, editing the file "current.responses" it is in the path; C:\....\1C Game Studios\IL-2 Sturmovik Battle of Stalingrad\data\inputAnd erasing the parameters "Abc_head_pitch%2C0.07%2C0.48%2C0.2 " After edited the file, restart the game, and check your custom joystick curves because it is posible that game reset them too. Now, i have near to 85 degrees of upward view instead of the previous 45 degrees.
