Choppy VR image when turning, but still have high frame rate?

Since the last update, I notice that my HP reverb G2 delivers a choppy image when I am turning the aircraft, particularly in a full bank turn.  The screen looks like it is generating about 15 FPS but the frame counter is solid up in the 80's

Prior to the update the image was very smooth.  not perfect, but livable

My system specs

Alienware Aurora R8

32 gb ram

NVIDIA RTX 2080

i7-9700k cpu @ 3.6 Ghz

Thanks for your help

I've only noticed something similar like that when the inside-out tracking seems to have an issue either from dirty cameras on the headset, LEDs in their field of vision or just low lighting conditions; amusingly, I've also noticed it when my cat jumps on my desk while I'm playing, I guess the tracking system considers it a change of environment and tries to adapt. It's most apparent when rolling and looking around.

You may want to check if you've set the Steam WMR to force Dx11: Force DX 11 mode. : r/WindowsMR

Another thing to check is to make sure Hardware Accelerated GPU Scheduling is disabled. Sometimes that 'interrupt bombs' VR.

Unfortunately, it seems the most recent update has hurt performance a bit. All was buttery smooth after the previous update for me. However after this latest one, I have micro stutters again.

Wulfe,

I'm in the same boat, redoing my settings trying to sort out what changed.

I've noticed some micro stuttering too, and it doesn't seem connected to framerate.

Recently I'm also frequently seeing a strange flickering of the ambient light when in the air looking out the right side of the aircraft when the sun is behind me.  Never on the left, only on the right.   It is not pronounced, and I can't say it happens 100% of the time,  but it is quite noticeable.    (Update: turns out it was just engine exhaust being hit by wind shear  ?)
