Offline mode

Hi all, I'm hoping someone can help or offer suggestions. 

 

I have been stung by the update... Again. I don't really want or need the latest update, the game was working perfectly fine for me. I don't play online, I don't play multilayer, but occasionally play career over mobile connection. .. So why oh why am I being made to run an update to only play in offline mode? 

 

I have been starting il2 directly from the exe, not the launcher, and selecting offline mode. I do not have a reliable Internet connection, which is why I can't just run a 'small' 3gb update. I periodically take my box in and pay to run updates when I can. Now I have a #10005 error telling me I need to update to play offline!? 

 

Is there anyway to instruct the game or modify the exe to NOT check version and just run with what it has? 

 

To be clear, I am not asking for an illegitimate hack, just a workaround to get me going again

open the game directly, go to the BIN folder, then the GAME then go click the 16 gb game EXE file.. 

 

Problem is the game has been wierd lately....  i believe they are updating things slowly to us to force an install.  Im still running 4.602b   and once the 4.7 update launched i cannot hit the "log in online" option, tells me to update, but log in offline is fine. 

 

But i have been noticing alot of issues with planes lately
