SShrike Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 Can anyone recommend a free, simple video editing software to simply trim and splice videos. The windows editor limits the fps to 30 after trimming. I am just looking for something basic. Thanks.
Strewth Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 From memory, OBS Studio and Blender. I don't get time to do much with them, but they worked for me. Cheers
VilsonFarias Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 I had the same question 3 days ago. I watched this video and decided to try Da Vinci Resolver 17. It's very easy and powerful. The vide has also other options with simpler programs. 1
dawud Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 (edited) I use openshot, it´s free & sufficent. Edited December 27, 2021 by dawud
Jade_Monkey Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 +1 for DaVinci Resolve. It can look intimidating but there are plenty of tutorials on YT to achieve whatever you want to do It's very powerful and free.
ShamrockOneFive Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 DaVinci Resolve... another vote for that. Free with professional features.
Freycinet Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 Windows Movie Maker, you can download it from old Windows Essentials packs.

SharpeXB Posted December 27, 2021 Posted December 27, 2021 You can actually edit the replay tracks in the game itself. Just select Edit and then it will remove any part of the replay when you are paused to change views or scroll back and forward.
FlyingNutcase Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 +1 for DaVinci Resolve. As has been mentioned above, it looks intimidating but is actually easy to use with a YouTube tutorial or two. I checked out all the main names and that's the one I've settled, although admittedly for more than just slicing & dicing.
VilsonFarias Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 (edited) Those are all the videos I needed to start using Da Vinci Resolve. It teaches how to merge different video segments (cutting) and creating transitions. In literally 40 minutes you will learn how to use it. My advice is to start with the Da Vince beacuse if you need some advanced feature in the future you will save a lot of time by not spending not even a minute learning a whole new program just to have access to it. Da Vince will probably have everything you would ever need. It is worth the time investiment. Edited December 28, 2021 by VilsonFarias

Pressing "Edit" seems pretty much the same as pressing Load. What changes in this mode?! Edited December 28, 2021 by J2_Bidu

VA_Kamicosmos Posted December 28, 2021 Posted December 28, 2021 DaVinci Resolve for me as well. Works so much better than pretty much any of the other free ones out there.

I’ve only used it once or twice but I recall it worked like this; I assume you are wanting to change to different camera angles, so while playing back the track, just pause, change the angle or view and unpause etc. when you save it the parts where you are paused and changing angles or setting up a view are eliminated. It would not work for combining tracks from different sessions. But it worked for something simple like the above. Basically it eliminates the parts of the replay where you pause.

I can’t quite recall but I don’t imagine this has changed over the years. I’m away from the game right now otherwise I could just check myself. Edited December 28, 2021 by SharpeXB

There's a "Finish Spectate", oddly, but it seems to do nothing.
