Whilst we stuff our faces, exactly 80 years ago nearly 4000 Soviet citizens of Leningrad starved to death that day during a war of extermination and wholly without pity.

Lets all resolve to end war on civil populations in particular and just keep it virtual instead, eh?

Happy Christmas now.

The Soviets really did know how to do memorials to the GPW. Memorial to the defenders of Leningrad.

Hard to understand just how callous human beings are, that these things can and still do happen is appalling.

Take care and be safe.

Wishing you all the very best, Pete.

Lest we forget, too, the German plan if Leningrad was captured was to kill all inhabitants of the city and demolish it.
